Numerically the majority of Marrakech’s hotels are almost certainly riads, but there’s something to be said for the ease (and the extra elbow room) of life in the Palmeraïe. Here, just minutes outside the medina, is the compound-like resort that is Les Deux Tours: 44 rooms and suites divided among multiple buildings and villas, spread across more than 7 acres of courtyards, gardens and groves.
The accommodations are classic in their architecture and subtly contemporary in their décor; the look is stylish, influenced by Marrakech’s romantic past but far from old-fashioned. The comforts, too, are substantial, though never ostentatious, adhering to a timeless ideal of luxury — and the sort of service that makes good use of a high ratio of staff to guests.
