Mimado is a cool, contemporary space north of Mérida's city center in the Plaza Zafira. Inside, a green upholstered banquette is lined with wood tables facing the kitchen, and green tiles and plenty of plants lend an airy feel to the space. Meanwhile, the menu is loaded with daytime offerings with breakfast and brunch items including everything from chilaquiles and pancakes to baked goods with a local flair (think pumpkin seed croissants). Sandwiches are elevated with a local touch, as in the corned beef layered between house-made Japanese milk bread slathered with stone ground mustard, habanero chicharrón mayo and pickles. Don't skip dessert, and their creative coffee options, including cocktails, are always a good idea.
