Bib Gourmand: good quality, good value cooking
In this charming building dating back to 1823, sisters Susanne Däumer-Lentz and Iris Mayer now represent the second generation of the family at the helm. With the help of their team, they run the restaurant with heart and dedication. Service is friendly, and you'll be treated to regional and seasonal dishes. Be sure to try the Franconian speciality of Schiefertrüffelsuppe – soup made with a rare forest mushroom. The traditional character of the premises has been preserved – beautiful old wood makes it really cosy! At the entrance you can sneak a peek into the kitchens. In summer, make a beeline for the secluded outdoor dining area to the rear of the house.
"I raise goats and chickens myself, in my kitchen we cook with whole regional organic grazing cattle and pigs kept in pens with plenty of straw, the organic vegetables are grown only 3km away and I also grow some produce myself. Constant personal contact with the producers. Energy is saved wherever possible."
