Two Stars: Excellent cooking
The rather special location on the Landwehrkanal in lively Kreuzberg, among other restaurants and shops, is a draw in itself. Well shielded from the street, a lovely terrace is laid out front. Inside, the atmosphere is intimate and inviting. The combination of period wood panelling and chic, modern design, along with a striking mural by Jim Avignon, draws as much attention as the glass-fronted kitchen. Sebastian Frank puts vegetables at the heart of his cooking. With remarkable inventiveness, he creates compelling flavour profiles from excellent ingredients, sourced wherever possible from the Berlin and Brandenburg region. These are dishes that leave a lasting impression. The chef presents his "emancipated vegetable cuisine" as a set menu of seven or four courses that are sure to intrigue with names such as "mushroom liver" or "fuck caviar". The signature dish "celery ripe & young" can be added as an extra course. Sebastian Frank also enjoys interacting with guests and explaining his creations. Interesting wine list dedicated to Eastern Europe and Austria.

"As a co-founder of the association "Die Gemeinschaft", I stand for the promotion of a regional trader network. The aim is to spread a new food awareness, a food culture that honours craftsmanship, protects resources, focuses on nature and where one is allowed to adopt a clear position."
