Six rooms in a pastel-colored villa just outside Camogli, on the protected Mount Portofino peninsula. Hosts Mario and Fulvio (formerly in advertising, which explains both the art collection and the eye for detail) treat guests more like houseguests than hotel visitors, with all the ease and informality that implies. No restaurant, no televisions, and no particular structure to the day beyond the infinity pool, the breakfast terrace and whatever the surrounding coastline demands. The top-floor Terrace Room has sea views from both the terrace and the shower, and Genoa is half an hour away for anyone who eventually tires of doing very little.
