Traditional Elegance & Quiet
A 19th-century colonial manor on Sri Lanka's deep south coast, Maya Tangalle was built with British and Dutch influence and restored by architect Channa Daswatte with enough sensitivity to let the bones of the building speak. High timber-vaulted ceilings, carved four-poster beds and polished hardwood floors run through just a handful of rooms and suites, each treated as its own composition. It looks out over paddy fields rather than the sea, making it quieter and more private. Exclusively for resident guests, it also includes a kitchen garden and solar-powered ethos.
