Despite its name, Bar St-Denis is a proper restaurant, run by Au Pied de Cochon alumni Emily Homsy and David Gauthier. The interior is done out in quite a retro style with a bar-counter, open kitchen, standard tables and high tables. The chef, who previously cooked at Toqué! and Montréal Plaza, serves traditional French cuisine with the odd Lebanese note: labneh, clams and tabbouleh, falafel, foie gras, stuffed cabbage, suckling pig with sauce Robert. A lively, welcoming restaurant that is well established in the neighbourhood.
