An hour outside of Philadelphia and the city slowly gives way to the countryside of Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Here you’ll find the landmark Carversville Inn, an 1813 tavern that was the first one in town, back when Carversville was called Milton (long story). And if the Carversville Inn had simply been preserved for two centuries and change, that would be interesting enough — but in fact it’s been transformed into a stylish contemporary boutique hotel, one that combines historical influence with theatrical modern-retro décor.
Its six suites aren’t the whole story, though. Some guests travel this far just for the accommodations, but the Inn’s main attraction is arguably its restaurant, a French-inspired brasserie that makes the most of ingredients supplied by Bucks County’s local producers and purveyors.
