In the Plateau Mont-Royal district, this iconic bistro, which has been going strong for several decades, was founded by theatre fans and has become a hotspot for night owls (last orders at 12.30am). The quintessential bistro interior sports a Parisian-style counter, Art deco light fixtures, claret-coloured walls, mirrors and black-and-white floor tiles. In a buzzy vibe and seated at tightly packed tables, you will sample emblematic Gallic classics: celery rémoulade, chicken liver pâté, smoked herring, beef tartare, veal kidneys in mustard sauce and grilled salmon with lentils and spinach.
