In the heart of a farm in the Lanaudière region, this country restaurant delivers a full farm-to-plate experience. In a timber-built barn overlooking the countryside, Loïc Leperlier cooks instinctively with local produce: vegetables, herbs, free-range birds and house-made maple syrup. Made to order, the dishes on the single set menu faithfully follow the harvests and are dotted with nods to the chef's Réunion Island roots. Jessica Grégoire extends a warm welcome, adding a personal touch to the service.
"The farm and the table are one and the same at this rustic restaurant, where the vegetable garden inspires every menu. Around 80% of the ingredients come from the property: vegetables, fruit, eggs and barrel-aged maple syrup, as well as poultry raised and slaughtered on-site. The rest is sourced from neighbouring farms. Biomass heating, a building made of local wood, bouquets of flowers from the garden and the use of food scraps to feed the animals round out an approach deeply rooted in the local terroir."
