The couple behind the restaurant share a love of ‘kanzake’, warm sake. The proprietress was once a coffee barista, and as both surnames contain the character ‘fuji’ (wisteria), the restaurant was named ‘Kan Coffee Fujifuji’. The nostalgically styled interior evokes the charm of a small neighbourhood restaurant. The owner devotes himself to the cooking, while the proprietress oversees the warming of sake. It occupies a space somewhere between an izakaya and a kappo. The menu is extensive, with inventive touches throughout. The meal concludes with sweets and, true to the house’s name, coffee.
