Set into the hillside, this attractive country house was built for a Lancashire industrialist around 1860 and is surrounded by beautiful terraced gardens and woodland. Its original features include a wood-panelled former billiards room, which now acts as the drawing room; follow this through into the restaurant, where you'll find the best seats are in the conservatory.
