David Bowie married Angie at Bromley Old Town Hall in 1970, and the building has been through several incarnations since. Now it is a 23-room hotel, part of a wider restoration of the early 20th-century complex. Stained glass, soaring ceilings, and original wood paneling have been preserved and complemented by art deco details added in the newer sections. Rooms are compact but well-equipped, with CBD-infused teas and adjustable shower pressure among the touches that earn their keep. The restaurant Dorothy & Marshall, with its grand skylights and double-height dining room, is reason enough to make the trip from central London.
