Long one of Saint Barthélemy’s best-loved and most luxurious small hotels, Le Toiny makes its home on the quiet east end of the island, a setting that provides it with an extra measure of privacy and tranquility, both of which aid in providing a singular sense of laid-back glamour. And while it’s been renovated over the years, today’s Le Toiny is still the chic little gem that’s been a favorite among in-the-know travelers since 1992.
Its suites dot the hillside above Anse de Toiny, and while their interiors have been brought subtly up to date, there remains an air of timelessness about its blend of Caribbean rusticity and French sophistication. Your neighbors might be Hollywood royalty, but you’d never know it, so discreet is the service (and so self-contained are the suites). All of them come with private pools, though you’ll mingle with other guests by the side of the main pool. La Table, the more formal restaurant, is supplemented by the ultra-casual Beach Club.
