An 18th-century lakefront villa in Stresa, left empty for decades before its current owners gave it a full overhaul. Among the town’s more classical properties, this one takes a different approach: mirrored surfaces, brass detailing, velvet chairs in deep greens and blues, with peacock motifs threaded through the decor. All 28 rooms have balconies or terraces, full-height glazing, and complimentary minibars. The rooftop bar looks directly across to Isola Bella and Isola Madre. The restaurant’s chef brings Apulian roots to local lake ingredients, and the gourmet pizzas at lunch are worth making time for.
