One Star: High quality cooking
Maurizio Oster is the chef-owner of this modern, clean-lined, almost minimalist-style little restaurant. He co-leads the kitchen with Mirco Brunßen. Together, they pursue a clear philosophy in which the ingredients always take centre stage. Excellent ingredients, frequently sourced from small producers and organic farms in the immediate vicinity, go into seasonal North German-inspired, plant-forward dishes. Accordingly, alongside a set menu featuring some fish and meat, a vegetarian version is available. Signature dishes can also be ordered as add-ons. The refined craftsmanship is apparent the moment the flawless, precisely composed plates arrive. The preparations are diverse and engaging: dishes such as "Jerusalem artichoke, hazelnut" or "cod, capers" showcase bold, characterful combinations, whereas "summer asparagus, winter asparagus", for instance, strikes a more subtle, elegant note. Service is attentive yet relaxed. Astute wine recommendations. The set menu can also be paired with house-made non-alcoholic drinks.
