Asheville's most recognizable office building, a 1926 flatiron at the city's most iconic intersection, spent its first century housing detectives, tailors, and dancers before becoming a 71-room boutique hotel with an Appalachian Deco character. The hand-operated original elevator still ferries guests upstairs; rooms swap former desks for king and queen beds, Bellino linens, and mountain-and-city views. Luminosa, the wood-fired Italian restaurant built around Appalachian ingredients, holds both a Michelin Green Star and Bib Gourmand. The rooftop bar crowns the site of Asheville's first radio station, with the basement Red Ribbon Society pouring Prohibition-era cocktails below.
