Modern Design & Lively
Margot House, named after a character from The Royal Tenenbaums, operates like a private residence with only nine rooms, each one a maximalist cabinet of curiosities. Spanish designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán layered the interiors with original artwork, lacquered East Asian screens, African masks, and furniture in mismatched woods that somehow cohere into something striking. Everything's for sale at the ground-floor Margot Store, should you fall for a lamp or chair. The location is unbeatable: directly across from Gaudí's Casa Batlló on Passeig de Gràcia. Bathrooms are poured cement wet rooms stocked with Aesop products. The discretion is real: you could walk past the doorbell plaque without even noticing.
