Bib Gourmand: good quality, good value cooking
Reference to a farm in the centre of the village first appears in records in 1764; many years later it was taken over by the Morent family and became a village inn. Now the presence of daughter Lisa and her partner Nicolas Haut is like a breath of fresh air. Their seasonal cuisine is made from high-quality, predominantly regional produce, and served as a three-, four- or five-course set menu. The space has a rustic-style wooden ceiling and a beautifully sleek and modern feel. Per sitting, this amiable couple can accommodate 20 diners, who are treated to cordial and attentive service. From the entrance area, you can catch a glimpse of the action in the kitchen.
"The founder of our family business was instrumental in establishing Slow Food in Austria, which is why our slogan has always been "Slow Food in the Tannheim Mountains". Today, we still work and act according to what our founder passed on to us: we do our own foraging, grow vegetables and herbs in our farm garden, do our own composting and work closely with trusted suppliers. We have also modernised our old farmhouse to make it energy efficient."
