One Star: High quality cooking
This restaurant on Friedrichstraße may look unassuming but it pursues a philosophy all of its own. Proprietor Billy Wagner and chef Micha Schäfer prize their ingredients and the way they are sourced above all else. They use only the finest seasonal produce – from the region, of course. They even make their own butter. A single set menu with the option of six or eight courses is served. The chefs are happy to talk you through their carefully conceived dishes, whether you are seated at a table or the counter facing the open kitchen – the latter are especially coveted. To go with the menu, there is a particularly interesting range of wines, beers, spirits and alcohol-free alternatives. Tip: Tue-Thu, running alongside the regular menu, the "Heimat" series features a rotating selection of classics and dishes inspired by childhood memories.
"Since early 2015, we have been going our own way, from the name to the concept, "brutal local" became our brand and we remain true to this slogan with our cuisine. We want to serve you "Berlin's surrounding countryside at its best", and to this end we train our staff and work as ecologically as possible."
