Modern Design & Quiet
Izuyasu has always been an inn since it opened in 1839, although at one point it was more used to welcoming monks and pilgrims. The classic Kyoto townhouse is now a boutique hotel with just eight guest rooms, none of which have a TV, telephone or even a clock so guests can truly switch off. Facilities include three private traditional Japanese family baths and a restaurant that serves cuisine based around Japan’s 24 solar seasons.
