Chef Julian Silvera oversees an intricate modern tasting menu that draws from his life, from a Lower East Side upbringing to foraging in the coastal wilds of California, brought together with vivid creativity and visual flair. Although at times presentation and narrative can eclipse simpler pleasures, the meal is anything but boring, and excellent ingredients keep things aloft. From a tiny everything bagel filled with salmon and cream cheese rillettes, to tender Californian lamb with spring vegetables and an intriguing jus accented with mole and black garlic, passion and dedication are apparent throughout.
