Situated in the heart of the city, AFTR is a trendy bistro with colourful, modern dining rooms and a charming outdoor space which is perfect for a slightly cooler dining experience away from the busy riverside promenade. The cuisine here, which includes Mediterranean dishes such as taramasalata and Central European options such as suckling pig with kiwi and fennel, is fresh and tasty, skilfully combining delicate ingredients with more intense flavours. Instead of the usual division of courses, the menu has sections dedicated to cold dishes, hot dishes and desserts. The small wine selection includes a number of wines also available by the glass. Our inspector recommends the Vitvoska di Kukanja, an organic white from the Karst which both fresh and mineral.
