This restaurant occupies a former abbey forge, a stone's throw from the shores of Lake Ossiach and the 11C abbey and church. The classically styled dining space has a lovely cross-vaulted ceiling, and the service is provided by an exceedingly friendly team. Florian Satran represents the third generation of the family to run the kitchen, and the cooking is done where the forge's hearth once stood. The menu is deeply rooted in the region – fish is sourced from a farm practising responsible aquaculture, and the quality is outstanding. Set against the magnificent backdrop of the lake and mountains, the terrace is truly idyllic. Overnight stays are also possible, in a handful of tastefully designed, modern guestrooms.
