Run by husband-and-wife team Simone and Christian Göttfried, this inviting restaurant boasts a charming location in the old town – the main square is just around the corner and the Danube is also very close by. The interior beautifully combines modern style with historical features such as a vaulted ceiling and wood panelling. Front of house, the owner and her team provide attentive service. Meanwhile, chef-patron Christian Göttfried focuses on cooking excellent food – expect regional, seasonal cuisine with a Mediterranean twist. Both the organic veal Wiener schnitzel and the branzino with a parsley vinaigrette are highly recommended. The wine list boasts some 350 labels, principally of Austrian provenance. There is also a small wine shop and tables are laid out in the lovely quiet courtyard. The hotel offers contemporary, cosy guestrooms.
