Located right in the town centre, this well-kept inn has a storied history that stretches back to around 1800. The success of this inviting family-run restaurant now lies in the hands of Florian Wörgötter and his partner Julia Mausser, who represent the third generation. The former uses seasonal produce to rustle up Austrian classics with a judicious modern twist. Dishes such as trout fillet with tender wheat, chicory and fennel, or Mariazell venison ragout with sour cream spaetzle, mushrooms and red cabbage are simply delicious. The "Business Lunch" is a moderately priced set menu served Wed-Fri. Service is led by the dedicated and cordial proprietress. Be sure to make a reservation – this place is popular and always busy!
