Housed in Hotel Birkenhöhe, this restaurant enjoys a tranquil location and is run by two generations of the Bantel family (Matthias and Felix), who serve up flavoursome modern-inspired dishes with an emphasis on locally sourced seasonal ingredients. Matthias – the father – bakes the delicious bread. Diners are also treated to friendly, attentive service and an excellent wine selection that includes some rare finds from Italy and France. Warm wood panelling and a tiled stove make for a cosy atmosphere. Tip: Request table no 32 for a stunning view of the Widderstein and Bärenkopf mountains. A small lunch menu is available daily until 2pm, and coffee and cake are served 2-5pm.
