Diners are assured of a pleasantly informal atmosphere and great food at this little inn run by Yvonne and Lars Dederscheck on the outskirts of Niederernen. Their dishes are inspired by modern culinary trends and made using the freshest select ingredients. Think lukewarm char, celeriac, apple and horseradish, or duck breast, pulled duck leg, Jerusalem artichoke and kale. A fine à la carte selection is available, along with a three- to seven-course set menu and a three- or four-course vegetarian set menu s. Valais wines are recommended as an accompaniment. The welcoming interior has a contemporary feel – as well as an attractive stone-clad counter, there are pleasing decorative touches including some lovely paintings that are also available to purchase. Last but not least, the inviting terrace overlooks the Rhone Valley.
