SORA Craft Kitchen is a labor of love, a one-man show run by Chef Okay Inak. This Turkish-born chef has a fine dining pedigree but runs this DTLA spot entirely on his own, turning out hearty, honest Anatolian/Turkish dishes with modern techniques. With just over a dozen seats, the space is bright and inviting thanks to wood floors and ceilings, white wood tables set with stools and plenty of greenery. It's a casual spot, where guests order at a kiosk, choosing from appetizers like Spanish octopus with a Turkish white bean salad and entrees like sumac-cured tenderloin shish kebab over a smoked pepper sauce and house-made yogurt. Cheese halva with crushed pistachio and house-made ice cream makes for a great end to an enjoyable meal.
