You'll have to venture out of Istanbul's city centre to find this rather unassuming-looking restaurant, but the trip is well worth it. At Itsumi, authentic Japanese cuisine is expertly prepared using the finest ingredients. Whether it's lightly warmed sea bass sushi, omelette filled with grilled glazed eel, or noodles simmered in chicken stock with finely chopped vegetables and chicken, you can rely on the chef to deliver the specialities of his homeland with all the requisite nuances. At lunchtime, both a set menu and à la carte options are available. N.B. The omakase menu has to be booked in advance.
