The ongoing popularity of cooking over fire is on full display at this vast Japanese restaurant. Using prime British ingredients but adding Japanese flavours, the highlights of the menu are the skewers, like chicken and blood sausage tsukune, and the delicious Duroc pork chop. All the dishes are designed for sharing so don’t over-order. Sporting reclaimed wood, an open kitchen at one end, a counter down one side with a wall of vinyl, and a curved staircase leading down to a sushi counter and ‘listening room’ – MOI certainly ticks all the zeitgeist boxes in looks too.
