Athens is a city where the ancient and the modern have no choice but to comfortably coexist, and it’s no coincidence that many of its finest boutique hotels happily incorporate influences from a multitude of eras. Athenian Foss, overlooking the pedestrianized Odos Ermou in the very center of the city, is a case in point: it’s the very model of the contemporary boutique hotel, even as it contains echoes of mid-century Modernism and Art Deco elegance.
Athenian Foss’s accommodations aren’t just stylish, but are marked by a certain luxuriousness as well. This is most apparent in the top-floor Presidential Suite, with its terrace and views of Lykavittos Hill and the Acropolis, but it’s noticeable in the Standard Suites as well. And while the concept is more urban pied-à-terre than self-contained resort, a street-level Greek restaurant means guests need not venture too far afield — although the location places any number of dining, drinking, and shopping destinations right at your feet.
