In the heart of Cagliari, mere minutes by foot from the marina quarter, is a luxury boutique hotel that shows an uncommonly refined side of the Sardinian capital. Artistic director Giorgio Casu has crafted a distinctive style that bridges different eras while incorporating the work of numerous Sardinian artists, designers, and craftspeople; Studio Pilia led the architectural design and renovation of the residence.
Each suite is unique, not only in the decorative choices but in the layouts dictated by this historical structure. You might find antique brickwork alongside modern concrete, or old timbers above new hardwood floors.
Sardinian cooking, specifically seafood, is an area of special focus, and for good reason — siblings Claudio and Caterina Murgia, for whom Casa Clàt is named, are also the administrators of the Nieddittas mussel farming cooperative. The hotel’s restaurant serves mussels among other Sardinian specialties; the revelry carries over into the hotel’s lounge bar and into its delightfully green courtyard garden.
