Inspired by the famous film Bitter Rice, directed by Giuseppe De Santis, who was born in Fondi, this restaurant welcomes guests into elegant dining rooms and a lush courtyard which is perfect for summer evenings. The cuisine looks to the present with a well-balanced creative flair that is evident in dishes such as the cuttlefish lasagnetta, served with an intense creamy sauce made from cuttlefish ink and offal, or the intriguing sweet “pinzimonio”, a fresh and light dessert that combines sweet-and-sour vegetables with softer notes. The concise but thoughtfully curated wine list features labels from all over Italy, whilst the central location, just a stone’s throw from the castle, adds further charm to the experience.
