Dario Breuer, the chef-patron behind the name, serves modern French dishes featuring international and Far Eastern influences and with a focus on seasonal produce. The "&" in the name deliberately leaves plenty of room for interpretation, because everyone should feel at home here, whether you go in for laid-back or ambitious cuisine – perfectly in step with its "casual fine dining" byline. The four- to seven-course set menu also has a vegetarian counterpart. Alternatively, you can pick à la carte. The well-curated wine list featuring 265 different labels encompasses big names as well as new finds and a fine champagne selection. The set menu can be accompanied by wine pairings served by the glass – "Élémentaire", "Par Excellence" or "Noble & Vieux" – or an alcohol-free equivalent. Service is pleasant, cordial and knowledgeable. The interior has a trendy, urban feel and, in summer, a handful of tables are laid out on the pavement in front of the restaurant. Being close to Synagogenplatz and not far from Elisenbrunnen, the cathedral and the town hall, the location is also of interest.
