Run by the same family for four generations, Kaiserhof has a surprisingly chic and fresh interior behind its deceptively traditional façade. The tastefully designed dining space is accessed via the open kitchen – diners can also watch the chefs at work. The concept here is a seasonally orientated "Culinary Journey" in six courses – for which you should allow plenty of time. Vegetarian dishes such as aubergine with pointed cabbage and Parmesan are just as enticing as the duck with Savoy cabbage and blackcurrant. Friendly and attentive front-of-house team. The chefs are involved in serving and talk you through the dishes. In summer, head for the terrace in the small courtyard. There are well-kept guestrooms for overnight stays.
