The small Upper Swabian city of Ravensburg, in the Schussental Valley, is full of natural beauty and historical architectural charm. Less obvious is where to find a bit of high-end contemporary hospitality — but within a stately 19th-century building in the heart of the old town is the Kaiserhof, a century-old hotel that’s evolved over the years into a thoroughly modern luxury boutique hotel.
Thus its history remains on display, but not preserved in amber. The Kaiserhof’s rooms are handsome, near-monochrome in their décor, and equipped with high-tech modern comforts as well as timeless ones like French balconies.
