Located in the centre of Kusel's old town, right on the market square, this renovated townhouse is certainly charming. Out front, there are a few trees and a fountain – the terrace seating here is delightful in summer. The place has a modern feel and a laid-back, friendly atmosphere. Wooden ceiling beams and exposed old sandstone masonry hark back to a bygone era. Ulrike and Daniel Bößhar deliver attentive service and ambitious cuisine in the form of a set menu inspired by modern culinary trends and ranging from three to seven courses. From the carefully crafted amuse-bouches to hearty dishes such as celeriac soup enriched with autumn truffle and Ibérico pork cheek, their detailed, flavour-led approach is unmistakable.
