In the heart of Chiado, a Lisbon neighbourhood truly appealing for its abundance of theatres, bookshops and dining options, this relaxed restaurant emerged (hence the name) with the intention of exalting Portuguese culinary roots, always with honesty and a clearly contemporary vision. Chef Pedro Pena Bastos, well known to the wider public for sitting on the judging panel of MasterChef Portugal, presents an extensive menu with a charcutaria (charcuterie) section, small hand-held snacks (we particularly enjoyed Barriga de atum rabilho (bluefin tuna belly), a bouquet of leaves from Quintal Urbano, tempura de algas (seaweed tempura), lima caviar (finger lime)), and dishes designed for sharing… all of which celebrate the quality of local produce and give vegetables a very special starring role.
