Badia Hill

Modern Design & Quiet
The “hill” in Badia Hill understates matters somewhat. Just up the slope from the hotel stand the craggy peaks of the Dolomites, and the Ladin-speaking village of Badia/Abtei is a year-round mountain destination. Badia Hill itself is unmistakable, a modern structure clad in typically Alpine wood but otherwise a dramatic departure from the traditional mountain-lodge aesthetic.

Inside, it’s similarly stylish, putting traditional mountain materials (and colors) to use in its warmly minimalist spaces. Its 33 rooms and suites come with mountain-facing balconies, and some feature private saunas or Jacuzzis. Meanwhile the hotel’s spa is set on the rooftop, affording its infinity pool the finest view in the house. And in its restaurants, Badia Hill combines Italian excellence with Alpine abundance, thanks to its proprietors’ background in food and wine — Porcino, the gourmet restaurant, is supplemented by the more casual Bistro Badia as well as a cocktail lounge.
