The menu at this smart ‘pub’ attached to The Langham hotel is cleverly designed to appeal equally to those just in for a pint (and there are many of them early evening) and those wanting a full meal. That means an appealing range of snacks, a signature 'Stovetop Toastie' and fat chips that simply must be ordered. For mains, there are burgers but also more adventurous choices like roast cod with mussel chowder or braised venison with hispi cabbage. The main room with its high ceiling hints at its previous life as a bank; if you want more intimacy, ask for the Green Room.
