Peckham’s loss was Marylebone’s gain when, in 2025, the owners of Kudu closed their three spots in South London and amalgamated them all into one swanky W1 address. Prices may now be higher but it’s an altogether more ambitious and elegant operation. Braai – South African barbecue – forms the centrepiece of the menu; if you're ordering poussin or the pork chop, be sure to also get the moreish beef fat fingerling potatoes. Start with their breads with cultured butter and, if you want to watch the action, ask for a seat facing the open kitchen.
