This may be quaint Yountville, but Thomas Keller's French bistro paints a scene that is straight out of Paris. Red velvet booths, marble tables, polished brass and a tiled floor make for a buzzy scene. The next-door bakery is equally busy with its own lines often stretching out the front door. True to form, the cooking is righteously, unapologetically indulgent. Salade Lyonnaise studded with bacon lardons, flat iron steak with French fries, mussels steamed with white wine, boudin blanc with potato puree — the classics are well accounted for. Finish strong with profiteroles matched with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce.
