Zipang translates to "kingdom of the rising sun" – everything about this restaurant, from the modern minimalist decor to the menu, is a celebration of the Far East. The food is definitely something to get excited about – with meticulous attention to detail, the finest ingredients are prepared using authentic Japanese techniques. At lunchtime, excellent value for money; in the evening, the mood is more upscale, with a six- or eight-course tasting menu featuring dishes such as hamachi with mackerel, yuba, Japanese mayonnaise and summer vegetables, or tuna with shungiku wasabi sauce and shrimp croquette.
