There has been a restaurant here since 1870, and the current owners, the dedicated Meier family, have retained the restaurant's traditional feel while also introducing contemporary influences. This is reflected in the flavoursome cuisine, which keeps many regulars coming back. Diners can choose a fine dining set menu of three to five courses – for example, Swiss Alpine salmon from Lostallo with fregola sarda and champagne-saffron sauce – or order à la carte, from classics such as veal cordon bleu to Indian curry with paneer, vegetables and jasmine rice. A well-chosen wine list complements the food. You can dine in either the main restaurant or St Peterstube, with identical offerings in both. For a good-value lunch, the daily specials are an excellent choice.
