A great example of classical architecture in Lithuania, Vilnius Town Hall is a special place and, hidden within it, is this comfortable and well-run restaurant. Its blue frescoed ceiling is certainly eye-catching and adds to the elegance of the room. The cooking keeps things fairly classical too, with its mix of French and Italian dishes; you can expect assured flavours, but the kitchen also displays a delicate touch when needed. Do start with the baby squid and octopus with white beans; then head for venison in the fashion of a Rossini tournedos.
