Los Burritos Juarez is a compact Fort Greene shop serving burritos in the border style of El Paso and Ciudad Juárez. The foundation is its house-made flour tortillas, cooked to order with lard, yielding wraps that are soft, warm and pleasantly chewy. They encase generous guisados, or slow-cooked stews, such as pork simmered in red chiles or brisket braised in a mellow salsa verde, finished with a swipe of pinto beans that brings the components together. The menu is concise and the flavors are deeply comforting, offering a regional burrito tradition rarely found in New York. Breakfast burritos are available from opening until they sell out.
