Between Assisi and the Porziuncola, Ascesi Resort is the restoration of a complex dating to 1080, the very site where Saint Francis paused on his final journey in 1226 to bless the city. A 16th-century fresco of Saints Augustine, Francis, and Anthony still survives in the original church apse. Nine adults-only rooms across the restored 16th-century villa, with views over the Umbrian plain toward Assisi. The setting is unhurried and contemplative, the interiors balance modern comfort against ancient pink stone, and small pets are welcome.
