A Eugene institution since the 1970s, the Valley River Inn was rebuilt in 2024, and is now a thoroughly contemporary version of its founders’ vision — it was established by a prominent logging family, which explains the hefty beams, rough-hewn furniture, and the enormous circular saw blade that hangs above the lobby.
Today’s River Valley Inn is as plush as it is rugged, offering a resort-style experience by the side of the Willamette, just to the north of the city center. Its rooms and suites are stylish, blending boutique-hotel minimalism with Northwest warmth, and spaces are generous, both in-room and out — Sweet Waters on the River is the versatile all-day restaurant and bar, and it’s supplemented by the lobby market.
