February 5, 2026 — The MICHELIN Guide, the world’s most prestigious restaurant and hotel accommodation guide, will host the official release ceremony for The MICHELIN Guide Seoul & Busan 2026 on Thursday, March 5, at SIGNIEL Busan.
The event marks the 10th anniversary of The MICHELIN Guide in South Korea. It will reflect on the evolution of Korean gastronomy — from its beginnings in Seoul to its expansion into Busan — while also looking ahead to the future of the country’s dining scene.
Since the launch of The MICHELIN Guide Seoul 2017, The MICHELIN Guide has continuously documented the growth and transformation of Korea’s culinary landscape. In 2024, its scope expanded to include Busan, offering a more comprehensive view of the depth, diversity and regional expression shaping contemporary Korean dining.
This year’s ceremony will take place under the theme “A Decade of Journey.” Alongside the unveiling of the 2026 restaurant selection, the event will reflect on the shared path The MICHELIN Guide and Korean gastronomy have taken over the past 10 years, while considering the direction of the decade to come.
Over the years, The MICHELIN Guide has closely observed the outstanding quality, creativity and responsible practices demonstrated by restaurants across Korea. Through its independent and rigorous selection process, the Guide has highlighted the diversity and potential of Korean cuisine while contributing to the growing international recognition of Korean chefs and restaurants. By maintaining consistent evaluation standards and editorial independence, The MICHELIN Guide has earned lasting trust among both chefs and diners.
During the MICHELIN Guide Seoul & Busan 2026 Ceremony, restaurants newly selected by MICHELIN Guide inspectors in Seoul and Busan will be revealed, including MICHELIN Star restaurants, long regarded as both a trusted benchmark for diners and a source of pride for chefs.
Ahead of the ceremony, the MICHELIN Guide Bib Gourmand 2026 selection — recognizing restaurants offering exceptional food at reasonable prices — will be announced one week prior to the official release.
In addition to the restaurant selection, the ceremony will also present The MICHELIN Guide Special Awards, which celebrate talent and dedication across the dining industry. This year’s honors include The MICHELIN Guide Service Award, The MICHELIN Guide Young Chef Award and The MICHELIN Guide Sommelier Award, presented in partnership with Perrier-Jouët, an official partner of The MICHELIN Guide.
Notably, 2026 will see the introduction of the Opening of the Year Award for the first time. This new distinction recognizes a restaurant team that has successfully opened within the past 12 months, distinguished by a creative concept and culinary approach that has made a meaningful impact on the local gastronomic scene.
Through this milestone edition, The MICHELIN Guide will celebrate its 10-year journey in Korea alongside chefs, restaurant teams, partners, media, and food lovers, while continuing its role as a trusted companion to the industry — supporting the distinctive identity and ongoing evolution of Korean gastronomy on the global stage.
The official partners of The MICHELIN Guide Seoul & Busan 2025 include Busan Tourism Organization, Aberlour, Evian, Ilpoom Jinro, Naver, Nespresso, Perrier-Jouët and Stella Artois. SIGNIEL Busan will will participate as the event supporter.
